Equipment

Our printmaking studio is split into two rooms with one room housing all of our presses and printing supplies, and the other for solely exposing, storing, and washing out screens. In our printing room we have four presses for use;

1. Takach Lithography press, 30 in x 48 in
2. Takach Etching Press, 18 in X 26 in
3. Conrad Machine Co. Etching Press, 24 in x 48 in
4. Takach Etching Press, 30 in x 60 in

Located in our screen room is a EUPO-XVACTORLED X-Vactor LED Exposure Unit With Digital Timer (Size 31 in x 42 in) for exposing screens and other UV light based printing processes. We also have two large washout booths with two hoses and a power washer for reclaiming screens, as well as a screen storage rack.

Classes Offered

Throughout the year we offer a variety of courses that cover many print mediums and skill levels such as;

Screenprint I
Water based and photographic techniques are combined to create painterly and precise imagery in the building of a body of work. Techniques may include stencil-making, digitizing, mono-printing and color exploration. This course introduces the foundations of technical skills, language and theories used by the artist as printmaker.

Screenprint II
As a continuation of Screenprint I, Screenprint II explores techniques to a greater depth. Students are expected to advance and build off of the skills they have already developed, and will be introduced to a wider range printmaking processes to advance their practice.

Printmaking I
Explores various printmaking techniques including but not exclusive of photographic relief block printing, solar plates, chine colle and screen-printing. Drawing processes and mixed media are emphasized. The foundations of technical skills, language and theories used by the artist as printmaker are introduced.

Printmaking II
As a continuation of Printmaking I, Printmaking II explores techniques to a greater depth. Students are expected to advance and build off of the skills they have already developed, and will be introduced to a wider range printmaking processes to advance their practice.

Advanced Printmaking
Explores combination-printmaking, portfolio development and building a cohesive body of work. Techniques may include mixed media printmaking, digital and alternative media. Students will document their work and develop an artistic statement to pair with the final presentation of their work.
