Install and license ZBrush on your PC or Mac

  Note: If you're working from off campus, you'll need to connect to Drexel's Virtual Private Network (VPN) while installing and using ZBrush.

Install ZBrush

Select the instructions for your computer's operating system from the tabs below.

Install on a PC

  1. Download the ZBrush floating license installer and configuration files for your PC.
  2. Once the downloads have completed, open File Explorer, go to Downloads, and double-click the ZBrush_2021.6.2_FL_Installer.exe file (the name might vary slightly).
  3. If you see the User Account Control prompt that says, Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device? select Yes.
  4. On the first installation screen, select Next.
  5. Review the end user license agreement, select I accept the agreement to agree to the terms of the end user license agreement, and then select Next.
  6. On the installation directory screen, select Next.
  7. Use the default settings or choose the components you want to install, and then select Next.
  8. Important: It is recommended that you keep the default settings.

  9. On the next installation screen, select Next.
  10. The software begins to install. Select Finish when the installation is finished.

Install on a Mac

  1. Download the ZBrush floating license installer and configuration files for your Mac.
  2. Once the downloads have completed, open Finder, go to Downloads, and double-click the ZBrush_2021.6.2_FL_Installer.dmg file (the name might vary slightly).
  3. If you see the Gatekeeper prompt that says, Are you sure you want to open it? select Open; then enter your Mac login password, if prompted, and then click OK. (This is the password that you use to log in to your Mac.)
  4. On the first installation screen, select Next.
  5. Review the end user license agreement, select I accept the agreement to agree to the terms of the end user license agreement, and then select Next.
  6. Use the default settings or choose the components you want to install, and then select Next.
  7. Important: It is recommended that you keep the default settings.

  8. On the next installation screen, select Next.
  9. The software begins to install. Select Finish when the installation is finished.

Copy the configuration files to the ZBrush folder

Select the instructions for your computer's operating system from the tabs below.

Copy the configuration files on a PC

  1. Once the installation is complete, open File Explorer, and go to Downloads.
  2. Copy the license_ZBrush4_1_1seat.lic file to the C:\Program Files\Pixologic\ZBrush 2021 FL\Licenses folder.
  3. Copy the FloatingLicenseDLL.dll file to the C:\Program Files\Pixologic\ZBrush 2021 FL\ZData\ZPlugs64\RLM folder.
  4. ZBrush is ready to use.

Copy the configuration files on a Mac

  1. Once the installation is complete, open Finder, and go to Downloads.
  2. Copy the license_ZBrush4_1_1seat.lic file to the /Applications/ZBrush 2021 FL/Licenses folder.
  3. Copy the FloatingLicenseDLL.lib file to the /Applications/ZBrush 2021 FL/ZData/ZPlugs64/RLM folder.
  4. ZBrush is ready to use.
