Architecture Alumni Hold AIA Leadership Roles

January 17, 2019

Three alumni of the Westphal College of Media Arts & Design’s Architecture Program are appointees to the leadership of the American Institute of Architects’ (AIA) Philadelphia and Pennsylvania chapters. The AIA advocates for the value of architecture and gives architects the resources they need to do their best work, driving positive change through the power of design. Founded in 1869, the AIA Philadelphia is among the oldest and most distinguished of AIA chapters, with a long history of service to members and the public.

Michael Metzger, AIA, LEED AP (graduated ’00), is State Director of the Board of Directors for AIA Eastern Pennsylvania, where he has served since 2013. Metzger is President of Alloy5 Design Studio in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Paul Avazier, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, NCARB (graduated ’07), is President-Elect of AIA Philadelphia. Avazier is an associate at Atkin Olshin Schade Architects in Philadelphia. Soha St. Juste, AIA, LEED AP (graduated ’09), currently serves as secretary for the Board of Directors of AIA Philadelphia. St. Juste is Architectural Design Principal for Jacobs in Philadelphia.
