Call for Artists!

January 21, 2015

The Drexel Arts Administration Graduate Association (AAGA) is a student-run organization whose mission is to help prepare arts administration graduate students to be successful leaders in the arts and cultural sector. Each year, the AAGA gives students in the program the incredible opportunity to attend National Arts Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C. The trip, which is supported by the proceeds from the annual Art Auction, enables students to join their colleagues and peers from across the country on Capitol Hill to advocate for policy changes and public funding for the arts.

The AAGA is reaching out to artists throughout greater Philadelphia to show support for Drexel’s Arts Administration students, and the impact of public funding for the arts, by donating artworks to the 12th Annual Art Auction, which will take place on Friday, February 27 in the URBN Center Lobby (3501 Market Street). Last year’s auction was attended by over 200 of the region’s patrons, artists and arts supporters.

Donations can be made in any medium including 2D and 3D works, as well as donated tickets or experiences related to the arts and culture field. To make a donation, please fill out the online donation form by February 8, 2015. For any questions or to purchase extra tickets for your colleagues and friends, please contact Naima Murphy, AAGA Board Member and Events Director, at naima@drexel.edu.

Philadelphia’s creative network grows with each donation while attention is drawn to both emerging and established artists. Artists who donate to this year’s auction will receive one complimentary ticket to the event and have the opportunity to keep 30% of the proceeds from the sale of their art.
