MARGUERITE RODGERS AND JAMES TIMBERLAKE - IN CONVERSATION
In a joint public presentation of their respective careers, married designers Marguerite Rodgers and James Timberlake will discuss how they have each created their own distinct, nationally recognized design firms. Marguerite Rodgers established her interior design practice in 1980 and her commercial, residential and institutional work has garnered awards and recognition for its commitment to craft and client satisfaction. James Timberlake established his architecture firm, KieranTimberlake, in 1984. The firm is known internationally for its innovative design research, and the recipient of over 160 design citations including the prestigious 2008 Architecture Firm Award from the American Institute of Architects. He is currently at work on the new US Embassy in London. In a departure from standard Arfaa Lecture Series format, each will speak briefly about their own work then participate in a conversation moderated by Derek Gillman that will explore their mutual influences, the intersection of architecture and interior design, as well as other topics. Audience participation will be encouraged. This lecture is free and open to the public.
