Jawole Willa Jo Zollar Rescheduled for Nov. 6

October 30, 2013

Our free and open-to-the-public symposium with choreographer and founding artistic director of Brooklyn-based based non-profit dance company Urban Bush Women (UBW), Jawole Willa Jo Zollar has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 6, 6:00 p.m. to 8:50 p.m. in URBN Center Room 349 (3501 Market St., Philadelphia).

The symposium, hosted by visiting Prof. Hana Iverson's Art and Social Justice class, will focus on how UBW performances explore the cultural influences of the African Diaspora based on women's experiences. The Company has toured extensively both nationally and internationally, and to widespread critical acclaim. Willa Jo Zollar, a Center for Creative Research founding fellow, will join Dance Program Director Dr. Miriam Giguere and Terri Shockley, artistic director of the Community Education Center (CEC) on the panel.
