Producing Indie Films

January 16, 2013

On March 2nd Los Angeles-based film producer J. Todd Harris will conduct a one-day filmmaking seminar that will focus on developing and producing independent films. The college has partnered with the Greater Philadelphia Film Office to bring Todd's candid and insightful workshop Producing the Independent Film, which he has conducted in Los Angeles, Boston and New York. Harris has produced more than 40 feature films including the Golden-Globe winning and Academy-award nominated The Kids are Alright that starred Annette Bening, Julianne Moore, and Mark Ruffalo.

The seminar offers a hands on approach to managing all aspects of creating independent films, from budgeting and raising capital to selecting projects, production and marketing. A limited number of free tickets have been reserved for Westphal students on a first come, first served basis; the remaining 75 tickets will go on sale to the general public in early February.  If you are a Westphal student interested in reserving a free ticket, please email Lisa Visco at visco@drexel.edu.
