The next edition of Dnews, the student produced television show that covers all things Drexel, looks at student life, study abroad, and the Late Night Series open mic nights. The show premieres on Friday, January 28th at 8 PM on DUTV. Ian Jabour produced a piece on Drexel’s Greek Life and Kyle Trobman produced a story about studying abroad. Mairin McKinley piece is on Drexel’s “Deepher Dude” beauty pageant. The pageant was a search for Drexel’s finest man and is a fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Organized by the Delta Phi Epsilon chapter, last year’s event raised $12,000 and they were shooting for more this year. Kevin Melfi produced a piece on Drexel’s Late Night Series featuring a student standup comedy competition.

Moving off campus, several Dnews features were devoted to Martin Luther King Day: Breanne O’Neil’s story on a West Philadelphia Community center whose observance included a community cleanup and Julia Fisher’s story on Philadbundance, our region’s largest food bank and hunger relief agency. Finally, culinary arts student Kayleigh Houde will rate the food and overall experience at the White Dog Café, the pioneering 34th Street restaurant.

Be sure to tune in to DUTV, Comcast channels 54 or 62 and Fios channel 37, to catch all of these stories and more. DUTV is part of the Paul F. Harron Studios and receives generous support from the Kal and Lucille Rudman Institute for Entertainment Industry Studies. Click here for more information on DNews and DUTV.
