In celebration of the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s current exhibition Roberto Cappuci: Art Into Fashion, the PMA’s Art After 5 series will host a night of “Project Capucci” fashion competitions on April 1st at 5:45 PM. Our very own Fashion Design sophomores Samantha Lurio, Meredith Mandel, Yeon H. Son and Alice Stevenson, and first year graduate students Tanisha Bess, Erica Lang, Julia Edick, Abby Renninger and Benjamin Robles will compete in a haute couture runway competition, staged on the Great Stair Hall of the museum, competing with design students from other area universities. Models from the Wilhelmina agency will wear our students’ Capucci-inspired creations. The fashion competition will be hosted by NBC10 anchor Lu Ann Cahn and include special guest judges: Marla Green DiDio, Philadelphia fashionista; Missy Dietz, General Manager of Neiman Marcus and member of Philadelphia Magazine’s Style Squad; Jay McCarroll, fashion designer and winner of the inaugural season of Bravo’s Project Runway; Luigi Scotto, Consul General of Italy; and Brigitte Segura, contributor to InStyle.com, whatswear.com, fashionledge.com, and citychickmagazine.com.

Guests will dine on specialty cocktails and small plates prepared by the culinary team from STARR Events. For information on how to attend this fun event at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, including the chance to see the Capucci exhibition that features a video on Capucci’s early career from Film & Video Professor Lise Raven, and to root for our talented students, click here.
