The Chamber Music Ensembles will present a fall concert this Sunday, November 14th at 4 PM in the AJ Drexel Picture Gallery, Main Building third floor (32nd & Chestnut Sts). The concert will feature performances by the Wind Octet, Student/ Faculty Brass Quintet, String Quartet and Improvisational Ensembles.

Senior Engineering student, Mark Donovan, is a featured soloist at the concert playing “Poem for Flute and Piano” by Charles Griffes. He is the winner of the Drexel Concert Band’s Concerto Competition and is the principal flutist of the Drexel band. The concert also showcases the Improvisational Ensemble. The members of this ensemble create their own music, responding to each other’s musical ideas instantly. Every performance for this ensemble is unique and constitutes an unrepeatable musical adventure.

The program will also include the romantic “Octet for Winds” by Carl Reinecke, “Concerto Grosso Number 8” by Vivaldi, and Eric Ewazen’s “Colchester Fantasy,” which helped secure his reputation as a leading contemporary composer of emotionally engaging music. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Dr. Myron Moss, Music Program Director, at mdm79@drexel.edu or 215-895-6214.
