RENT

November 5, 2010

Rent Color Logo with a black and white gradient backgroundRENT is coming to the Mandell Theater from November 5th through the 21st. The Drexel Players and 11th Hour Theatre Company, MPiRP’s resident company, present Jonathan Larson’s Pulitizer Prize-winning musical about a group of impoverished young artists and musicians who are struggling to survive, connect and create in New York’s Alphabet City under the shadow of the AIDS epidemic. The New York Times’ review of the breakthrough original production said, “This show restores spontaneity and depth of feeling to a discipline that sorely needs them. People who complain about the demise of the American musical have simply been looking in the wrong places. Well done, Mr. Larson.” Click here to view a special video blog series that presents a behind the scenes look at our production of RENT. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by clicking here or calling 267-987-9865. The cost per ticket is $15 to $30 (general public) and $5 for Drexel students.

In honor of RENT, the Mandell Theater lobby has received a makeover. Come visit mini-Alphabet City and answer the question, “What would you do if it was your last day on Earth?” For more information on RENT contact Jim Yandoli at yandoli@drexel.edu or 215-895-1275.
