Summoning the Spirits November 23, 2009 The rhythm is gonna get you when the Drexel Percussion Ensemble hits the stage at the Mandell Theater for an evening of hip-shaking and foot stomping music. As with all the concerts of the Percussion Ensemble, you will be out of your seat shaking, stomping and clapping along. Join us on Wednesday, December 2nd at 7:30 PM to hear arrangements by adjunct Professor Mark Beecher (who has played with Bo Diddley, Lucinda Williams, and Bela Fleck & the Flecktones) of "The Boomwhackers" and "Samba Batucada & Reggae." The Percussion Ensemble will share the stage with our Mediterranean Ensemble. Bruce Kaminsky's group of Middle Eastern players will have you dancing to the sounds of ouds, tamborins and baglamas, instruments featured in the music of the Middle East and North Africa.
