The Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts and Design at Drexel University welcomes bestselling and iconic pop-up book creators Robert Sabuda and Matthew Reinhart on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 for a free lecture open to the public. The lecture will be preceded by a book-signing of Sabuda and Reinhart's entertaining and distinctive works, which are well known to thousands of children and adults as particular favorites. In addition, Sabuda and Reinhart will also conduct a workshop with students in Westphal College's Graphic Design program. All events with Mr. Sabuda and Mr. Reinhart are presented by the Sibby Merkel Brasler Lecture Series.

Working from their New York City studio, Sabuda and Reinhart have reinvented the world of pop-up books. Their awe-inspiring creations are widely used in classrooms as teaching aides and have garnered major critical and popular acclaim. Mainstays on the children's bestsellers lists, the ‘dream team' of illustrated books have created over twenty-five pop-ups, including brilliant takes on classics such as "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz". Sabuda and Reinhart's book explore a variety of mediums including mosaic and faux stained glass.

The authors will sign books from 12pm – 1pm at the Living Arts Lounge (MacAlister Hall, 33rd & Chestnut Streets). Copies of Sabuda and Reinhart's "Mommy?", "Encyclopedia Prehistorica: Dinosaurs", "The 12 Days of Christmas Anniversary Edition: A Pop-Up Celebration" and "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" will be available for sale at the signing. Seating for the lecture is on a first come, first served basis.
