Screenwriting and Playwriting Workshop for all Students

Mandell Professionals in Residence (MPiRP) and the Screenwriting/Playwriting program present a Playwriting workshop with Los Angeles based playwright Alice Tuan on Wednesday, October 4th from 2:00 - 4:00 pm in the Small Screening Room (University Crossings 030).

Alice Tuan is currently in residence on the Drexel campus creating BATCH: AN AMERICAN BACHELOR/BACHELORETTE PARTY IN SIX ROUNDS with New Paradise Laboratorieshas. She has had her plays produced in New York (Flea Theater, Ma-Yi Theater, New Georges) and Los Angeles (East West Players, Mark Taper Forum) and most recently at the Brown/Trinity Playwrights Rep in Providence, Dad's Garage in Atlanta and also the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2005. She received emerging artist recognition with the Richard E. Sherwood Award (through LA's Mark Taper Forum) and the Colbert Award for Excellenece (through NY's Downtown Arts Project) in 2000. She was a recipient of the NEA/TCG Resident Playwright Grant (1998-2000) and received her MFA in Creative Writing at Brown University. For the past two years she has taught at the Michener Center for Writers in Austin, Texas, Independence Community College at the William Inge Center in Kansas and the California Institute of the Arts.
