College of Media Arts & Design Named in Honor of Beloved Alumni, Antoinette Westphal
October 18, 2005
On October 18, 2005, President Constantine Papadakis officially announced that the College of Media Arts & Design will be named after the late Antoinette Wespthal '58, Hon. '02, at the request of her husband, Ray Westphal '59, Hon. '02. Mr. Westphal has pledged a donation primarily in support of Westphal College - the largest single private donation in Drexel University's history. Mrs. Westphal was an active voice for the College's alumna as part of the Alumni Advocates group, as well as being the 2003 recipient of the prestigious alumni Rankin-Epstein award. The Westphal family has been among the most generous and engaged of Drexel alumni, donating their time and money to the University for many years. We are honored to be known as the Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design, and deeply grateful to Mr. Ray Westphal and the Westphal family for his donation, which will only further the College's accomplishments in media arts and design for years to come.
