DK Osseo-Asare is a Ghanaian American designer who makes buildings, landscapes, communities, objects, and digital tools. He is a co-founding principal of the transatlantic architecture and integrated design studio, Low Design Office (LowDO) based in Austin Texas, and Tema, Ghana. Osseo-Asare is also an associate professor of Architecture & Engineering Design at Pennsylvania State University where he directs the Humanitarian Materials Lab. The recipient of many international awards and recognitions, Osseo-Asare lectures around the world and his designs and research are widely published. Osseo-Asare’s innovative material assemblies are optimized for massively scalable radical resilience with low carbon energetics that bring life into balance for people and place.
