In 2012, the vast and diverse art collection of Albert Barnes was moved from his historic residence to its new, widely accessible home in Philadelphia. Join Professor Derek Gillman to discuss Albert Barnes’ commitment to advance equality in America through education and the new opportunities created by the museum’s move . Professor Gillman is Distinguished Teaching Professor, Art History and Museum Leadership, and Senior Adviser to the Drexel President for University Collections. From 2006 to 2013, he was Executive Director and President of the Barnes Foundation, stewarding the collection to its new home.

Westphal’s Creative Connections Summer Series 2020

As we move through the summer, the Westphal College is thrilled to introduce a series of creative discussions and workshops for the whole Drexel community to participate in. These sessions are meant to keep creative minds flowing and forge connections with current Westphal professors over multiple topics ranging from fashion in film and the role of museums, to Marvel comics and public art. Join us to take a moment and think creatively with other members of your Drexel community.
