Indie/alt-rock group and MAD Dragon Records collaborators Motion City Soundtrack will play 16 shows this summer on Vans’ Warped Tour – one of the largest touring music and extreme sports festivals in the world. Warped Tour is held in venues such as parking lots or fields upon which the stages and other structures are erected. The skateboard shoe manufacturer Vans, among others, has sponsored the tour every year since 1995. Click here for the band’s Warped Tour dates.
MAD Dragon Records “Making Moves” collaboration with Motion City Soundtrack began in 2012. The band curated a series of releases by emerging artists on limited edition 7” vinyl and digitally via MAD Dragon Records and Motion City Soundtrack’s recently launched record label, The Boombox Generation, distributed by the Alternative Distribution Alliance (ADA). Making Moves artists include: The Company We Keep, Brick + Mortar, Goldrush, The Skies Revolt and A Great Big Pile of Leaves, and Motion City Soundtrack contr ibuted two new songs to the effort.
Motion City Soundtrack is comprised of founding members Justin Pierre (lead vocals and guitar) and Joshua Cain (lead guitar and backing vocals), along with keyboardist Jesse Johnson, bassist Matthew Taylor, and drummer Tony Thaxton. The band’s 14-year career has seen them work with some of rock’s biggest names, including Ric Ocasek, Adam Schlesinger, Eli Janney and former Blink 182 bassist Mark Hoppus.
