Cooper Wright is a multidisciplinary artist and fabricator. Graduating with a degree in Interdisciplinary Sculpture from the Maryland Institute of Art, he has put his focus on methods of design production, custom furniture and lighting, and material research. He has completed work for companies such as BDDW, Workstead, Audemars Piguet, ASH NYC, Sunbrella, and many more. His work has been seen in Architectural Digest, the New York Times, Architizer, Wallpaper*, and dezeen. In his own sculptural and object-based practice, he explores the nuanced relationship between traditional craft processes and materials in combination with contemporary tooling and industrial methods. Using the rigidity of production processes in conjunction with the fluidity and decision-making of a sculptural practice, Cooper’s work opts to exist between the lines of art and design to make sense of imagined realities and potential futures.
