Joy grew up in New Mexico, Drexel brought her to Philadelphia in 1996. She graduated from the photography program 2000 and began teaching in 2008.
Joy has built a successful photography business doing weddings and portraits. It was Joy’s senior thesis of body landscapes that put her into the field of family portraits. She builds a trusting relationship with her clients starting with maternity pictures and documenting the families as they grow.
Joy’s work has been featured numerous years in PDN’s Top Knots wedding photography editions and she had the honor of photographing a wedding for the daughter of a sitting Vice President of the United States.
Joy believes it is important to built trust in her subjects that result in her ability to capture natural candid portraits and moments.
