Jeanne McHale Waite’s media career has ranged from creative work as a producer and writer to top-level management. Currently she is a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor of Entertainment and Arts Management at Drexel’s Westphal College of Media Arts and Design; part-time Consulting Vice President of High Five Content, LLC based in Los Angeles; and founder of consulting company 1Thing, LLC.
Jeanne taught media entrepreneurship at Temple University and served as EVP, General Manager of Atlas Media Corp, a New York based TV, film and digital content production house. Atlas distributed its original content to over 60 countries and was consistently named among the “Global 100” top independent nonfiction production companies. Previously, she was first COO, then CEO of Banyan Productions, an independent production company based in Philadelphia and Los Angeles that created more than 2,000 episodes of television.
After starting her career at CBS and NBC broadcast TV stations, Jeanne served as executive producer for Discovery Networks and others. She is the winner of 3 Telly Awards, 11 regional Emmys, Cine Golden Eagle, New York Film & TV Festival, Society of Professional Journalists Best Documentary, Women in Communications Award and other honors.
Jeanne studied Dynamics of Organization at the University of Pennsylvania and holds a BA in Communication from Temple University. She recently completed the Certificate in Artificial Intelligence for Creativity and Leadership at Parsons School of Design, and seminars in AI negotiation at MIT and video applications at UCLA. Her specialties include general management, business startup, financial management, legal affairs, HR, recruiting, negotiation, operations, distribution, rights and regulatory compliance, and producing for multiple platforms.
