Kimberly is an Artist and Designer, native to Philadelphia, and has great love for her city. Her childhood experience shaped her passion for Interior Design today. She has been a professional artist for 10 years and has sprinkled teaching throughout her career for the past 5 years. Kimberly became a liberal arts educator to students of all grades, this is where she discovered her passion for teaching. After a few years of teaching, she felt the need to infuse creativity back into her daily work so she returned to pursue further education at Drexel University. From 2015-2018, Kimberly studied Interior Architecture and Design at the Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design. It was at Drexel that she developed her love for community engagement and design. Kimberly has had 5 years of field experience ranging from Healthcare Design, Corporate Design, Urban Planning, Senior Living, Community/Civic Engagement Design, and Affordable House Projects.

Kimberly has a great passion for researching the effects of gentrification on communities and understanding the impacts on their environment. This research and her passion for education, the arts, and design helped guide her toward the mission of Youth Design Philly. Kimberly believes it is important to make design accessible to all and after founding YDP she has made it her mission to bring design to underserved communities and schools. YDP’s mission is to teach design principles to students in middle and high school. Along with educating the students on design YDP’s secondary mission is to provide low-income students with a well-designed space at no cost to them. Outside of teaching and designing, Kimberly always enjoys going back to creating art. She has exhibited her works in over 35 or more different art exhibitions. She has worked on several commissions and personal works for clients. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and learning new things, keeping up with her plant hobby, and also learning the Italian language making her trilingual.
