Kristina Drury is the founder of TYTHEdesign, a consulting firm supporting the goals and needs of agencies working in the social sector. From non-profits to social ventures TYTHEdesign use design-based approaches to support the communication and organizational needs of groups serving the public good. TYTHEdesign has been fortunate enough to work with some great organizations, including print & media collateral for TEDxBrooklyn, Cleargreeen Advisors, SSBx, Crop to Cup. As well as providing organizational products and system designed for a mobile soup kitchen, developed a life skill training program for women in a family shelter and are currently developing an educational after school program teaching life skills through entrepreneurship in the South Bronx. Kristina hopes to use here design background in a way to make a positive impact in her community.
Prior to starting TYTHEdesign Kristina has work as the NYC chapter head Project H Design a charitable organization focusing on product design for social change. While there, she was one of the lead designers of Learning Landscape a educational active learning playground, built all over the world from Tanzania to Mexico also featured at Cooper Hewitt’s 2010 National Design Triennial. Additionally, she worked as the Assistant Director of the Pratt Design Incubator, working with clients such as UNESCO, WestElm and Starbucks but also a series of very small non-profits and entrepreneurs.
Kristina has a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from McGill University and a Master’s in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute. Kristina has taught design thinking and education programs through Pratt’s DICE program, SSBx FABLAB program, StartingBlog and Skillshare.
