Amanda Buchanan is a Recruitment Manager for IKEA’s Corporate Office and Central Region. In this role, she works to ensure effective hiring practices of Leadership positions within IKEA’s corporate, store and central fulfillment units. As part of IKEA’s recruitment leadership team, Amanda is committed to shaping a high-performance team that leverages Diversity, Equity and Inclusion best practices.
With over 20 years of solid and progressive experience in Human Resources, Retail, and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Amanda has held a wide range of responsibilities in both field and staff functions, including serving as a Case Manager, a Diversity Specialist at Cigna Corporation and also the role of Executive Team Leader of Human Resources at Target, before entering the world of Recruitment. The combination of her academic training as well as her corporate and field experience have provided her with unique skills that have enabled her to assume a diverse career.
Amanda received her Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Loyola University Maryland. She later went on to receive her Master of Business Administration from Villanova University. Amanda resides outside of Philadelphia with her husband and daughter, where they run a non-profit called the FOCUS Youth Network. She also loves to travel, participate in community outreach activities, and doing craft projects.
