GIVING ARTISTS A VOICE

Amy Scheidegger

MS arts administration

Scheidegger
Amy is a painter, graphic designer, illustrator and arts administrator who has made it her personal mission is convince those who are not already persuaded that the arts change lives, improve the economy and fill voids in peoples' lives when nothing else can. She does this through her work with the Artistic Rebuttal Book Project (ARBP), an effort she founded about six months after serving as AAGA's Advocacy Director in the arts administration program and still leads today.  Since its inception, ARBP has enabled hundreds of artists to speak out creatively for the arts, making sure their voices are heard by legislators at all levels of government. In 2013, the ARBP will change shape a bit and reach beyond its bound pages in a mural collaboration with the Mural Arts Program of Philadelphia and will go on the road to Appalachian State University where students there have gathered rebuttals to make their own ARBP exhibit and printed edition. It's exciting, changing times for all things Artistic Rebuttal!
