Public Safety

Drexel University’s Department of Public Safety takes a holistic approach to providing best in class preventive and protective services to the Drexel University community. The department provides and administers many community-oriented services and programs that exist to maintain a secure environment and to enhance the quality of life on our campuses.

Drexel Public Safety accomplishes its mission by integrating the best practices of modern public and private security, law enforcement and fire safety complemented with state-of-the-art technology. First and foremost, our police and security forces provide a highly visible presence around the clock in our buildings and on our streets and walkways. Other strategies include ongoing educational programs that provide important information through personal safety and fire safety awareness training.

The men and women of the department are committed to professional excellence and truly believe in a community-oriented approach. We are always seeking new and better ways to provide these services while maintaining a welcoming and open campus environment. In order to better serve the community, the department embraces the concept that "Safety and Security are a Shared Responsibility" and encourages everyone to take an active role in making our campus experience the best it can be.
