Office for Institutional Equity and Inclusive Culture
The Institutional Equity and Inclusive Culture (EIC), formerly the Office of Equality & Diversity (OED), is committed to promoting, supporting and providing resources to sustain a living, learning and working environment of diversity, equality, fairness, inclusion and respect where all members of the University community are valued. EIC is responsible for ensuring that the University complies with its own policies and with federal, state and local laws prohibiting discrimination and harassment based upon race, color, religion, gender, pregnancy, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, identity, and expression, and veteran status.
EIC acts as a resource for faculty, professional staff and students and provides education and training on equal opportunity and non-discrimination laws, policies and best practices. The office offers coaching and mediation to resolve conflict in a constructive and proactive manner, and conducts impartial investigations of complaints of discrimination and harassment, recommending corrective or disciplinary action when appropriate. Disability Resources is responsible for providing disability resources, including reasonable accommodations, to qualified individuals with disabilities.
