Revised Academic Calendar Dates for Fall Quarter 2023
Dear Students and Colleagues,
The Academic Calendar has been adjusted so that the Fall Quarter 2023 will now start on Tuesday, September 26. Several other academic calendar dates have also been adjusted, including the deadlines to resolve financial holds, add/drop and withdraw from courses. Term examinations will begin on Monday, December 11, as previously scheduled. Please view the Academic Quarter Calendar for the updated dates.
Because Yom Kippur will fall on September 24 and 25 this year, this change is being made to allow more students and faculty to participate in the first day of classes, which is an important time for establishing a successful term learning experience.
Instructors should make up the missed Monday class period through asynchronous virtual instruction during the term (e.g., posting a recorded lecture, reading assignment, etc.) and take these revised days into account when planning midterms and other important course dates. Please refer to the Learning Management System policy and the Assignment of Credit Hours policy for more information about making up missed credit hours. The Office for Institutional Equity and Inclusive Culture is available to provide suggestions and support for employees who would like to request a religious accommodation.
