Early Closing to Provide Extra Time to Vote on Election Day 2021
Thanks to the advocacy of the Undergraduate Student Government Association, the University will close at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2 in an effort to encourage voter turnout and in support of the USGA’s expanded efforts to make this a day of service. Although classes will not be cancelled, faculty are encouraged to be flexible when possible.
Possible SEPTA Strike Emergency Transportation Plans
There is a possibility of a strike by SEPTA City Transit Division as early as 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, October 31. In the event of a strike, Drexel University would remain open as we have with past strikes. We are partnering with other major University City institutions to provide shuttle service linking riders from the 69th Street Transit Center and the PATCO terminus at 15th and Locust streets to our campuses. Details on that contingency plan are provided below

Drexel University's 2021 Convocation Ceremony
Join us on October 6 to mark the start of the academic year with Drexel’s historic Convocation ceremony. This is a pivotal moment for the University and for society, as we emerge from one of the most challenging years of our lifetimes. Our speakers will touch on the innovative, inclusive and cross-disciplinary work they’ve been doing — and the unique role that Drexel plays — in addressing challenges related to climate, social injustice, public health, design, technological innovation and more.
