About Me
Rumaan received his BS in Biological Sciences from Drexel in 2014 where he was introduced to the field of ecology by Dr. Dan Duran. After working in the field for several years post-grad, he is now pursuing his PhD at the University of Michigan where he works on mammalian carnivore systems. His work focuses on how human pressures in all their various forms impact the functioning of carnivore communities. In late May he will travel to the Valdivian forests of Chile to set up his own field site to study the impacts of domestic dogs on the native carnivore community, including the critically endangered Darwin's fox.
Rumaan was selected as an Honorable Mention for NSF GRFP in 2019.
