Rachel Semigran

Rachel Semigran graduated Summa Cum Laude from Drexel University in June 2010 with a BA in English and a minor in Theatre. While at Drexel Rachel was President of the Drexel Players and performed in ten Main Stage productions. She was also a member of the improv comedy troupe The Drexel Football Team. Rachel currently volunteers with the drama program at Parkway Center City High School where she had the pleasure of co-directing the school play with fellow Drexel Players this past spring. She is an Editorial Assistant at the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau where she writes a great deal about the city in the Official Visitors Guide and in online features. Rachel has also been a company member of Mayor Karen, a house team in Philly Improv Theater, for the past year. She is thrilled to be studying Applied Theatre (Drama in the Community and Drama Education) at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience that has been so graciously awarded to her through the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation. Rachel is one of ten students in the country to receive the first-ever Graduate Arts Award. She is humbled, deeply honored and thanks the professors and mentors who helped guide her and friends and family for their unending support. She can’t wait to continue her education, become an educator and pay it forward.
