Phillip Tomezsko

Truman Scholarship Finalist, 2011

BS Biomedical Engineering '12

Phillip Tomezsko, a Biomedical Engineering undergraduate, is a finalist for the prestigious Truman Scholarship. The Truman Scholarship is a $30,000 merit-based grant awarded to undergraduate students with extensive records of public and community service. Phillip has been active in community service since his first year at Drexel.

In addition to his involvement with the Phillip B. Lindy Inner-City Public School Program, he has been serving as President of Circle K International, and as a Drexel Community Scholar at the Center for Civic Engagement has been the liaison to Trevor’s Place, a non-profit homeless services organization in Philadelphia. In 2010-2011, he developed a new initiative regarding public health service opportunities. Phillip’s conviction for public service is paired with exceptional academic achievements. We are truly delighted and proud that he was named a Truman finalist.
