Gilman International Scholarship to Singapore, 2024
Gilman STEM Supplemental Award Recipient, 2024

BS/MS biomedical engineering '26

Lynelle is an Honors BS/MS biomedical engineering student at Drexel University, specializing in tissue engineering. As the proud daughter of Caribbean immigrants from the islands of St. Kitts and Dominica, and a native of Baltimore, Maryland, she is deeply inspired to drive innovation that improves lives worldwide.

Lynelle has gained valuable experience through roles at Merck, Terumo Medical, and as a 2022 STAR Scholar, where she conducted research on brain function in real and virtual environments. At Merck, she ensured manufacturing continuity by managing supplier changes for critical raw materials in vaccines on a global scale, and at Terumo, she contributed to the development of advanced vascular catheters.

Beyond academics, Lynelle finds joy in African dance, celebrating culture and creativity through movement. A lifelong learner and driven leader, she is committed to making a meaningful impact in the biomedical field.

Lynelle is Drexel's first recipient of the Gilman STEM Supplemental Award. The Gilman Scholarship and STEM Supplemental Award will fund a biotechnology-focused internship abroad, with an emphasis on pharmaceutical or medical device research and development. Lynelle is working with the Global Career Center to match her with an employer in Singapore. This opportunity will allow her to gain hands-on experience in the global biomedical industry, focusing on understanding the processes behind the innovation, design, and regulation of biomedical products.
