Matthew Soesanto

About Me

Matthew is a senior at Drexel studying biology with a minor in bioinformatics. He has developed a strong passion for genomics and symbiotic relationships through his past experiences at the Weckstein Lab and Gould Lab at Temple University. His Fulbright project will focus on studying the symbiotic relationships between siphon fish and their bioluminescent symbionts in North Sulawesi, Indonesia. Other than doing research, Matthew enjoys going on runs on the Schuylkill River Trail, bouldering, and taking pictures.

Matthew has been involved in the Pennoni Honors College as a 2022 STAR Scholar, 2022-23 Aspire Scholar, Undergraduate Research Mini-Grant Recipient, and Gilman Scholar.
