About Me

Drexel faculty mentor: Joseph Hancock

Alex is pursuing a bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, with minors in Global Engineering and Retail. He is also a recipient of the Gates Millennium Scholars Program, cohort class of 2014. He has an established passion for the water resources and for the importance of water quality. By attending several conferences such as the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity (NCORE) and the American Water Works Association (AWWA), he has been able to integrate diversity and new water infrastructure into his engineering work ethic. Along with that passion, he enjoys exploring the world of men’s fashion. With the instruction of faculty-mentor, Joseph Hancock, Alex got to invest in a culture most engineers don’t divulge in by attending shows in New York City for Men’s Fashion Week.

On campus, Alex is also a part of the Paul Peck Scholars Program, under the guidance of Rosemary Sullivan. Through this peer mentorship program, which then becomes more leadership focused in subsequent years; Alex is able to learn how to succeed in a competitive work force as a technological leader. This program also endorses the participation of public speaking, civic engagement, as well as applying critical thinking/reasoned problem solving skills with engineering enigmas. Additionally, he is a brother of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity on campus. Through the advisement of his brothers and with National conferences made available, he is able to exercise his leadership skills for the betterment of his fraternity.
