The Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship (SULI) program encourages undergraduate students and recent graduates (two years or less between receipt of degree and program start) to pursue STEM careers by providing research experiences at the Department of Energy (DoE) laboratories. Selected students participate as interns appointed at one of the participating DoE laboratories. They perform research, under the guidance of laboratory staff scientists or engineers, on projects supporting the DoE mission.
Internships take place during a 10-week Summer Term and 16-week Fall and Spring Terms. Each DOE laboratory/facility offers different research opportunities; not all DOE laboratories/facilities offer internships during the Fall and Spring Terms. A list of participating laboratories and research areas of interest can be found on the program website.
