Rei Bui Receives 2026 Freeman-ASIA Award

Congratulations to Rei Bui, who received a 2026 Freeman Awards for Study in Asia (Freeman-ASIA) scholarship! This grant supports American undergraduates who plan to study overseas in East or Southeast Asia and aims to increase the number of Americans with first-hand exposure to and understanding of Asia and its peoples and cultures. Rei will be studying abroad in South Korea.

Rei Bui, international business '29, Honors

Rei grew up in suburban Pennsylvania and attended Souderton Area High School. Coming to Drexel, she is an Honors international business student, and is currently on co-op as an HR associate at a health tech company. She is slowly finding her career paths and is interested in helping people as well as legal work. Part of her career navigation includes traveling abroad this upcoming fall to further develop her perspective and character.

The Freeman Awards for Study in Asia (Freeman-ASIA) provides grants of up to $7000 to support American undergraduates who are planning to study overseas in East or Southeast Asia. The program's goal is to increase the number of Americans with first-hand exposure to and understanding of Asia and its peoples and cultures. From its inception in 2001, Freeman-ASIA has made study abroad in East and Southeast Asia possible for over 5,000 U.S. undergraduates from more than 600 institutions.
