Congrats to Alden Hoke and Gianna Manela, 2018 Freeman-ASIA awardees!
Two Drexel students, Alden Hoke (BS Civil Engineering '22, Honors) and Gianna Manela (BS/BA Global Studies/International Business '22), have been awarded Freeman-ASIA scholarships to study abroad this fall. Huge congratulations, Alden and Gianna!
Alden Hoke is a freshman majoring in civil engineering with a particular interest in green infrastructure and mass transit. With the support of Freeman-ASIA he will be studying abroad at Nanyang Technological University, a research-intensive university in Singapore this fall. Upon his return to the U.S., he plans to work with Drexel’s Student Center for Diversity & Inclusion to share his experience with members of Drexel’s LGBTQ+ student population and connect them with NTU’s very active LGBTQ+ student organization, Kaleidoscope.
Gianna Manela is a freshman double majoring in global studies and international business. With the support of Freeman-ASIA Gianna will study abroad at Seoul National University in South Korea this fall, focusing her studies on Korean history, language, and foreign politics. Upon her return to the U.S., she plans to visit her alma mater Bucks County Technical High School and share her experience with culinary arts students through a hands-on Korean cooking demonstration.
