Drexel Basketball Opens the Season Eying New Heights

CAA Player of the Year Bailey Greenberg is looking to position the Dragons for another shot at a conference championship this season.

The Drexel men’s and women’s basketball teams tip off the 2019-20 home basketball season the weekend of Nov. 8-10 at the Daskalakis Athletic Center. The men will play at home on Friday and Sunday, while the women have a home game on Saturday.

CAA Rookie of the Year Cam Wynter will lead the men’s team into action on Friday against Niagara and again on Sunday against Abilene Christian at 2 p.m. Wynter set the Drexel rookie assist record a year ago. James Butler, the CAA’s leader in field-goal percentage, also returns to the Drexel lineup as the Dragons look to move up in the CAA standings.

The women, led by CAA Player of the Year Bailey Greenberg, have their home opener on Saturday, Nov. 9 against Davidson at 2 p.m. The Dragons return all five starters as they look to return to the CAA Championship game for the fourth time in the last five years.

Friday night’s game will be a “Salute to America’s Veterans & Service Members.” U.S. veterans and service members will receive a discounted $5 ticket with a valid military ID. In addition, veterans will receive a special acknowledgment during the game as we approach Veterans Day.

On both Friday and Saturday, there will be a Drexel student tailgate at the Daskalakis Athletic Center, sponsored by The DAC Pack, Undergraduate Student Government Association, Campus Activities Board and The Good Idea Fund. Sunday will be “Dollar Dog Day,” with all hot dogs costing just one dollar at the DAC concession stand.
