Ready, Set, Register: Drexel’s Annual Employee Olympics Is Coming Up

Employee Olympics

It’s that time of year again for the faculty and staff of Drexel University to prepare for the most athletically demanding event on campus: the Employee Olympics.

This year, A Healthier U, Human Resources and Recreational Athletics will host the 9th annual Employee Olympics on June 20 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Faculty and professional staff can compete in eight different sports, or come along to cheer on their colleagues.

This year, employees can sign up in teams (or individually to be added to a team) to compete in basketball, dodgeball, beach volleyball and baggo (bag toss) games. Dragons can also compete individually in table tennis, tennis, squash, a climbing wall challenge and a fun walk.

Faculty and staff have until June 13 to sign up to go for the gold.

New this year is an opportunity for employees to earn 25 wellness incentive program points for participating in one or more sports, as well as a chance to win an iPad or one of two Fitbits in a raffle they are automatically added to for signing up. Plus, everyone can hang out with Chai and Espresso, Drexel Recreational Athletics’ therapy dogs, from 3 to 3:30 p.m. that day (which makes everyone a winner, really).

To register — or to schedule practice time for your team — contact Assistant Director of Recreation, Intramural and Club Sports Matt Macer at 215.895.2676 or mlm575@drexel.edu.
