Dario Salvucci, PhD

Salvucci’s research uses cognitive models to examine how people perform more than one task at the same time and how their performance is affected as they perform additional tasks or when they are interrupted and then resume the tasks. He has also developed tool for rapid prototyping in-vehicle distractions that was used by Ford to test the interior designs of its cars. His current research for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration looks at the challenges surrounding implementation of connected vehicle technology. Salvucci has commented in stories related to distracted driving, using an iPod while driving, texting while driving and texting while walking.
