Innovations At Opera Philadelphia Attract New Audiences
Daniel Belquer, artist-in-residence at Drexel’s ExCITe Center, and Abigail Insana, an undergraduate in the College of Arts and Sciences, were interviewed in a Sept. 19 WTXF-TV (FOX-29) “Good Day” segment about Vox Ex Machina, a device created by Drexel students that can translate a song into a piece of visual art.
‘A chain of dominos’: Philly luxury home sales remain on the rise amid affordability crisis
Kevin Gillen, PhD, an adjunct professor in LeBow College of Business, was quoted in a Sept. 18 WHYY-Radio story about new research indicating that luxury home sales in the Philadelphia area have increased over the last six years.
Interventions Help Dementia Caregivers More Than Patients
Laura N. Gitlin, PhD, Distinguished University professor and dean emerita in the College of Nursing and Health Professions, was quoted in a Sept. 8 Medscape article about recent research that showed no significant difference between dementia patients’ care in a health system-based dementia care program and community-based dementia care program compared to a usual care program.

Abieyuwa Aghayere, PhD

Aghayere studies structural systems and why they fail. He has written extensively about wood, concrete and steel construction and structural failure analysis. And commented in media stories about building collapses, the degradation and testing of infrastructure and the built environment.

 

Robert D'Ovidio, PhD

Criminology & Justice Studies
D'Ovidio researches the intersection of computer technology, crime and the criminal justice system. He directs Drexel's research program in computer crime and digital forensics. In the past, he has worked with the New York City Police Department and Philadelphia Police Department on research projects involving computer crime. His work with the law enforcement community also includes training investigators on techniques to trace Internet communication and seize electronic evidence and cell phones.

Girija Kaimal, EdD

Kaimal’s research focuses on understanding the way that creative self-expression affects human emotions and other brain processes. Her work particularly focuses on the ways people's experiences influence what they create, and how art-making can be used to reduce stress and stress-related issues.
