Fall Events at Drexel University to Look Forward To

There are plenty of social events on campus, as well as career and academic deadlines to be aware of.

There’s no shortage of events at Drexel University to help Dragons thrive socially, academically and professionally. Fall is a busy time on the University City Campus, and these events will help students get to know their community and follow along with deadlines.

Campus Engagement

CAB x Drexel A Capella Concert & Movie Night: Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. at Race Lawn

Along with Drexel’s Treblemakers, Cleftomaniacs and 8 to the Bar, CAB presents “Pitch Perfect,” along with a performance by each Drexel A Capella group. Popcorn will be provided, and tickets are not required, but the event is limited to undergraduate students only. The concert begins at 7 p.m. with the movie following at 8:30 p.m.

Involvement Fair: 4–6 p.m. on Sept. 30 on Race Lawn

This annual event is a great way to get involved in campus life, as it brings dozens of Drexel’s more than 200 student organizations to one place. Browse tables for information, talk to mentors and find your new favorite club. In case of rain, the event will be held on Oct. 1 with the same time and place.

DragonFly: Oct. 17 at the Daskalakis Athletic Center (DAC), time TBD

This concert is free for undergraduate students, but grad students can purchase tickets for $15, and alumni and outside guests can purchase tickets for $25. The openers are always Drexel students’ musical groups, and this year DJ duo Til the AM will get the party started. The headliners this year include cupcaKKe and Rico Nasty. Campus Activities Board Jellycat Bingo: Nov. 10 from 6–8 p.m. at Nesbitt 111

This ticketed event was a smash hit last year, so CAB is bringing it back and bigger than before. Join friends old and new as you fill out a bingo board in the hopes of winning your new plushie best friend. Keep an eye on CAB’s DragonLink page for the link to this event.

Athletics

Women’s basketball season begins: Nov. 2

The Dragons start their season at home against Marist University on Nov. 2 at the DAC before getting right into Big 5 play when they face the University of Pennsylvania’s Quakers at their arena on Nov. 6. Big 5 matchups will continue throughout November before the Dragons head back to UPenn’s campus for the Big 5 Classic on Dec. 6. Student tickets are always free for basketball games.

Men’s basketball season begins: Nov. 3

The Dragons will take on the University of Virginia’s Cavaliers in an away game to start the season before kicking off home games against Colgate University on Nov. 7. They’ll play their fellow Big 5 teams throughout November before playing in the Toyota Men’s Big 5 Classic on Dec. 5 at Xfinity Mobile Arena.

Fall sports season kickoffs: August to November

Most of Drexel’s sports teams are already into their fall seasons or are about to kick off their 2026 campaigns. Here’s when you can start cheering on your Dragons, and remember, students get in free.

Women’s field hockey: The field hockey team has already played several games, but their next home game will take place at noon on Sept. 27 at Buckley Field, when the Dragons take on UPenn’s Quakers.
Men’s and women’s tennis: Both teams will play in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s ITA Northeast Regionals from Oct. 15–20, and the women’s team will play in the Dragon Invitational at the Vidas Courts from Oct. 30–Nov. 1.
Men’s and women’s rowing: The iconic Head of the Schuylkill Regatta brings the rowing world to Philadelphia on Oct. 24 and 25, and both the men’s and women’s teams will compete.
Men’s and women’s swimming and diving: The men’s and women’s teams dive into the season with the Blue and Gold Meet at the DAC on Oct. 3 and 4.
Men’s soccer: The Dragons go on a long road trip before returning to Vidas Athletic Field to play Hofstra University on Oct. 10.
Men’s wrestling: Their season begins Nov. 2 at the Navy Open, but they’ll return to Philadelphia for the PRTC Keystone Classic at the Palestra on UPenn’s campus on Nov. 22.

Academic and Career Reminders

Fall Career Fair: Oct. 7, 14 and 15 at varying times in the Drexel Recreation Center Gym

Students who want to connect with potential employers can attend these annual career fairs to discover co-op and full-time opportunities. The virtual career fair happens first, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 7, followed by the in-person STEM career fair on Oct. 14 from 1–5 p.m. and the in-person all-majors career fair on Oct. 15 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Register on Handshake for the sessions you want to attend, and don’t forget to complete your profile and upload your résumé beforehand.

Academic calendar reminders

Oct. 12: Indigenous Peoples’ Day (University Holiday). Students on co-op should check with their employers to see if they are off.

Nov. 3: Election Day. There will be no classes, but administrative offices will be open.

Nov. 24: Thanksgiving holiday begins at the close of classes. Students on co-op should check with their employers.

Nov. 30: Classes resume after the Thanksgiving break.

Dec. 7–12: Term examinations.

Jan. 1: Last day of co-op for fall term.
