Fall Update Provides Details About Drexel’s 2020–2030 Strategic Plan

During a recent virtual event, the University's future strategic plan was discussed by the University faculty and professional staff tasked with completing it.

Throughout 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic, and a national reckoning on systemic racism, Drexel University has stayed on track to reach its goal of finalizing its 2020–2030 Strategic Plan as the year comes to a close. During a faculty and professional staff town hall on Oct. 30, the University’s Executive Planning Committee (EPC) has incorporated lessons from the digital pivot and the nascent recommendations of the University’s Anti-Racism Taskforce, while holding fast the year-end deadline. In opening remarks, Drexel President John Fry said the EPC would incorporate input and then seek approval from the Board of Trustees in December.

“It’s aspirational and innovative, yet iterative in its approach to allow us to adapt to an ever-changing and complex education landscape. If this year has taught us anything, it’s that we must prepare to respond to unexpected opportunities as well as challenges, and this plan does that,” said President Fry at the beginning of the virtual event.

During that virtual presentation and discussion, members of the EPC gave a presentation, answered submitted questions and shared their thoughts on everything from strategies to looking ahead to the future.
