After a comprehensive national search, I am delighted to announce that Donald E. Moore, currently the senior vice president for facilities, planning and operations at Rowan University, will be joining Drexel University on June 11 as vice president of Real Estate and Facilities.
As the steward of Drexel’s built environment both on and off campus, Donald will provide strategic/master planning, general management, and professional direction for all of Drexel’s buildings and properties, as well as for the departments within Real Estate and Facilities, including business operations, environmental health and safety, facilities management, planning, design and construction, real estate and lease management, and transportation. Donald will report directly to me and serve as a member of the president's cabinet.
Donald comes to Drexel with more than 35 years of experience in facilities and operations management, master planning, real estate development, and executive leadership. Since 2012, Donald led Rowan’s facilities and operations during the largest and most sustained growth period in the university’s history, implementing approximately $700 million in capital projects. Before that, he served for five years as associate vice president for facilities and operations at Stockton University, where he led the development of three satellite campus locations. Prior to his work at universities, Donald served in a variety of facilities and real estate management and consulting roles in both the public and private sectors.
In addition to his professional experience, Donald brings a spirit of civic engagement to his role. He currently serves on the boards of several community and development organizations in our region, including Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia, the Urban Land Institute’s University Development & Innovation Council and Philadelphia Advisory Board, and the Winslow Township Planning Board and Economic Development Council.
I want to thank the search committee, chaired by Senior Vice President for Government and Community Relations Brian Keech, for their efforts in evaluating and interviewing candidates. I truly appreciate the time and commitment they dedicated to this process. I also want to acknowledge Drexel’s Real Estate and Facilities leadership team for working collaboratively with U3 Advisors to shepherd the division during this time of transition.
