President Fry Hosts First Strategic Plan Town Hall: A Quick Recap
In the first of four town hall meetings planned for the spring, Drexel President John Fry updated the audience on the progress of the University’s strategic plan, “Transforming the Modern Urban University,” and his goals for its next phase.
A crowd of more than 100 faculty and staff members attended the town hall in the Bossone Research Enterprise Center’s Mitchell Auditorium, where Fry discussed the next phase of the plan, which will continue through 2019. The first phase launched in 2012.
“I would like our conversation today to be about our future and our aspirations,” Fry said at the start of the meeting, which ended with a question and answer session.
The specific topics covered Wednesday afternoon included the new strategy for student recruitment and admission, increasing Drexel’s global impact, and the importance of sexual violence prevention.
Fry discussed Drexel's co-op program, calling it "the best thing a university can have right now." International co-ops were identified as part of increasing Drexel's world-wide presence.
Expect a full recap of the town hall in the next edition of DrexelNow Tuesday.
