Domestic and International Criminal Procedure and International Criminal Adjudication, the Hon. Carolyn Temin, Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas

Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Judge Carolyn Temin for a discussion of both domestic and international criminal procedure and international criminal adjudication. Specifically, Judge Temin will discuss her appointment as an International Judge on the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo. The court tries cases involving organized crime and public corruption and war crimes cases, including those which are to be transferred from the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. Judge Temin will also discuss her role in the development of drug related rule of criminal procedure in Central America. Lunch will be served. The event is co-sponsored by The International Law Society and the Criminal Law Society.

Professor Haider Al Hamoudi of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and attorney Erich Ferrari will discuss how Islamic religious or sharia law affected the development of constitutional and legal systems in Iraq and Iran, and how Islamic law generally comports to international legal norms.
