The Messenger quoted Professor David S. Cohen in a Dec. 12 article about Democratic messaging on abortion leading up to the 2024 election. The Democrats’ strategy links the legal cases and personal stories of women who have been denied abortions or prosecuted after miscarriages to former President Donald Trump, who the article says “bragged about creating a Supreme Court that eventually overturned the federal right to an abortion.”
From the article:
“The typical abortion case is brought by a provider or clinic, but when you have a patient who can tell their story, I think it just has more power,” said David Cohen, professor of law at Drexel University. “It’s very different when you're speaking in the hypothetical as opposed to talking about a particular person who's dealing with this part of her health or her life or whatever.”
