Professor Lisa A. Tucker, an expert on the U.S. Supreme Court, was interviewed for a June 25 KYW-TV (CBS-3) story about the aftermath of the court overturning Roe v. Wade.
Numerous nationwide protests have occurred since the Supreme Court rendered its Dobbs decision, including one outside of Philadelphia’s City Hall on June 25 that marched to Independence Hall.
The impact of the decision is expected to be felt even in states that allow abortions, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, said Tucker.
“I would anticipate that getting an appointment for care may be more difficult given that people from other states might decide to travel here for abortion care,” she said.
Professor Tucker also emphasized the decision could motivate people to get out and vote in elections for years to come.
