An article on law firms that specialize in cybersecurity, privacy and compliance in Corporate Counsel quotes ’13 alumna Jordan Fischer about the firm she and a partner launched.
Cyber incidents at Equifax, Yahoo, Verizon and elsewhere appear in the Dec. 1 article as evidence of the growing importance of privacy and cybersecurity on legal practice in large and small firms.
The article notes that XPAN Law Group, which Fischer co-founded with partner Rebecca Rakoski in 2017, focuses on helping clients address state, federal, regulatory and international cybersecurity and privacy liabilities they could face. In particular, the article observes, XPAN helps clients prepare for the legal requirements of the European Union’s upcoming General Data Protection Regulation.
“From a management perspective, it’s quite invasive in terms of what we get into with clients,” Fischer says, referring to the GDPR.
Fischer, a member of the adjunct faculty, teaches European Union Law.
